Does it really take 17 hours to burn an hour long slideshow? I started last night and it shows that it is not even 50% complete and that there is 9 hours remaining.
Thanks

Hi what spec machine have you got?. It's the encoding that takes the time not the actual burning. PhotoVidShow has to encode your project to a dvd structure on your harddrive and then burns this to the dvd. To encode an hour long dvd should take between 1-1.5 hours on a normal computer, so yes something sounds wrong. Are there other processes hogging your computer or low on hard drive space etc?. Also on some laptops, to save power sometimes the machine selects a low power kind of mode which is not very good for this type of thing, can often double the time, so make sure you're on high performance mode.
Once the dvd is encoded, you can burn it as many times as you want with out haven't to encode it again (burning an hour long dvd will only take 5 mins). Use our dvd video burner tool by select tool->launch dvd burner. Also if you just wish to encode the dvd, untick the 'burn to dvd' option in the burn wizard, you can always burn the dvd later then.

I switched computers to burn the disc and it took pretty much exactly what you indicated below. I tried burning from my home computer and my kids have downloaded numerous programs and probably some things that is affecting the performance of the machine. So I used my laptop and it took about 1 hour and 15 minutes to decode and just a few minutes to burn and the disc worked great for the party. I actually saw tears in my daughter’s eyes as she watched and listened to the music that I selected.
Thanks again for your help,
Rick
