Would it be possible to consider this as a future update – unless it can be done now !!!
I would like to select a sub-section (or remove some that are included) of transition effects in order to limit the transitions that are used when random is selected as the default effect.

Hi Gary, yes this makes sense, I see where you are coming from. At the moment a random transition effect really means any random transition effect. Probably needs you to be able to select a group of transitions which it will then pick a random transition from.
I'll add this to the new features list, but this will not happen till next release. As there was a new release only a few weeks back, this isn't going to happen any time soon I'm afraid.

Stuart – Thank-you for that.
In the meantime my workaround when using random is to go into each transition, check it is suitable, click on ‘custom’ tab. If not suitable select one that is and click on custom. I have found that you do need to make the effect custom, as they will change when creating the slideshow.

Hi Gary, this sounds ok but worth mentioning that when the transition is set to random, it will select a random transition and keep it whilst the project is loaded. If you were to save your project and re-load it at another time, because the transition effect is marked as 'Random' it will select another random effect which will probably be a different one. So your workaround is ok so long as you create the video without saving and re-loading the project again.
Originally PhotoVidShow only had a handful of transition effects (long time ago), but as newer versions of PhotoVidShow have been released, a lot more effects got added, to the point now that just selecting 'random' can mean ending up with some in-appropriate effects. This should change by next version though.
